A Comprehensive Review of Power Converter Topologies and Control Methods for Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Applications

Wide-scale adoption and projected growth of electric vehicles (EVs) necessitate research development power electronic converters to achieve high power, low-cost, reliable charging solutions for the EV battery. This paper presents a comprehensive review off-board chargers that consist ac-dc dc-dc stages from network Although are categorized into two types, namely, on-board chargers, it is essential utilize dc fast ultra-fast so volume weight can be reduced significantly. Here, we discuss state-of-the-art topologies control methods both focusing on technical details, ongoing progress, challenges. In addition, most recent multiport integrating PV, energy storage, EV, grid presented. Moreover, comparative analysis has been carried out schemes rectifiers, converters, in terms architecture, voltage levels, efficiency, bidirectionality, variables, advantages, disadvantages which used as guideline future directions solutions.
